Review "A Star Is Born"

 

Hi everyone. Today I will introduce a movie which I was interested in but I hadn't watched in a long time. The movie is A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Dave Chappelle, Andrew Dice Clay and Sam Elliott. This is a 2018 American musical romantic drama film. It was produced and directed by Cooper and written by Cooper, Eric Roth and Will Fetters. It is third remake movie of the 1937 film after the 1954 musical and the 1976 musical. A Star Is Born's box office was＄436.2 million, against a budget of＄36 million.

The main character in A Star Is Born is Ally, played by Lady Gaga and Jackson "Jack" Maine, played by Bradley Cooper. Lady Gaga is an American singer, songwriter and actress. A Star Is Born was the first time for her to appear as the main character in a movie and she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. She appeared in Men in Black 3 (2012), Muppets Most Wanted (2014) and Sin City : A Dame to Kill For (2014) in a cameo appearance. Bradley Cooper is an American actor and filmmaker. He produced and appeared in Silver Linings Playbook (2012), American Hustle (2013) and American Sniper (2014). And he has been nominated for various awards and has won two Grammy Awards and a BAFTA Award.

Ally works as a waitress and singer-songwriter. She wants to be a star in the music industry but she doesn't have confidence, and her appearance isn't complimented by people around her. Jackson "Jack" Maine is a famous country rock singer, but he is battling an alcohol and

drug addiction. After a show, he goes out for drinks and visits a drag bar where he witnesses Ally's performance. He was deeply moved by the song. Ally and Jack spend the night talking to each other. Jack was impressed by her talent so he decided to hire Ally for his next concert.

I think this movie is a success story but not only because the feeling of listening to "Shallow" changed before and after watching the movie. I love the song "Shallow". It won Best Original Song. Before watched the movie, I was just impressed by Lady Gaga's powerful singing, but after I watched it, I can feel this song more emotionally and it makes me cry. I was crying from the ending part of the movie until the end credits were over.
