Hello everyone. I posted a review that made us cry so much last time, so I'm going to introduce a movie that will make us burst out laughing. The movie is I Feel Pretty starring Amy Schumer, Michelle Williams, Emily Ratajkowski and Naomi Campbell. This movie came out in 2018. This is an American comedy movie written and directed by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. This movie was a debut work of them as the movie directors. They are known for co-writing romantic comedy films such as Never Been Kissed, He's Just Not That Into You, How to Be Single and the story for Valentine's Day. They also co-wrote the romantic comedy drama film The Vow. I Feel Pretty grossed a worldwide total of $94.5 million, against a production budget of $32 million.
Today, people are too sensitive about self appearance. People worry even what their body shapes and their looks. If people don't have confidence, they don't feel happy when they are praised. On the contrary, they may become irritated. However if we are always positive, we can enjoy life no matter when, no matter where!! I thought like that because of this movie.
The main character in I Feel Pretty is Renee Bennett, played by Amy Schumer. Schumer is an American stand-up comedian and actress. She debuted in Trainwreck (2015) which she wrote and made. And she was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe for Best Actress - Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.
Renee Bennett had low self-esteem which made people puzzled because she had no confidence and always apologized. She managed the website for the cosmetics firm Lily LeClaire. She was unhappy about the workplace which was in the basement of a building in Chinatown. It was not the headquarters.
Then she found out the firm was recruiting a new receptionist. She wanted to work as the receptionist in that firm, but she didn't have courage. She had taken to going to the gym. Then she fell, hitting her head when she rode a machine in the gym. And when Renee got up, she was surprised because she noticed her face changed and became very very beautiful!! Of course, her face didn't change, but her personality shifted to be more positive. It not only changed her personality. Everything in her life changed!!
This movie is really fun because Amy Schumer is a comedian. She is perfectly suited for the role. Renee was shining more than anyone else when she became convinced of her own beauty. I think it is necessary to care about appearance, but the way of thinking is more important. If you have confidence and smile a lot, the people who are like you increases around you. The reverse is also true. Renee knows her own charm, so she doesn't care about other's evaluations. We should all keep our self-esteem.
